City & Guilds has created the 2921-34 to standardize practices so manufacturers, suppliers, and installers can adhere to them. Elec Training is proud to announce the new Electric Vehicle (EV) charging qualification it is designed to give a fundamental understanding of how to design, install, test, inspect, commission, and maintain electric vehicle charging equipment.
What Will I Learn On This Course?
Course Snapshot
2-day (Non-consecutive) course (1 Day teaching + self-study) and 1 day for exam revision and online exam. This course includes the C&G qualification and exam.
Who is this course for?
This course is intended for qualified electricians. Learners must hold one of the following and supply a copy on the first day of the course:
- 2357 Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Installing Electrotechnical Systems and Equipment (Buildings, Structures and the Environment)
- 2357 Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Electrotechnical Services (Electrical Maintenance)
- 5357 Level 3 Electrotechnical qualification
- 2356 Level 3 NVQ in Electrotechnical Services Experienced Worker
- 2346 Level 3 Electrotechnical Experienced Worker Qualification
- Other Awarding Organisations equivalences will also be acceptable
- Equivalent historical qualifications
or - JIB Gold Card (electrical) , JIB Electrician or Approved Electrician Card (ECS)
If your qualification from the list above is more than 5 years old, you must show an 18th Edition Qualification to demonstrate you are up to date with the latest regulations.
Why take this course?
This qualification is designed for electricians who want to develop their existing skills to include installation and maintenance of single electric vehicle charging units in domestic properties and commercial premises.
Course Content
This qualification will give you a fundamental understanding of how to design and install domestic and commercial electric vehicle charging equipment.
Typical examples include:
- 16 A (3.6 kW) and 32 A (7.2 kW) single phase units
- 11 kW and 22 kW three-phase units
Topics covered in this qualification include:
- Understanding requirements relating to electric vehicle charging equipment.
- Understand different types and features of electric vehicle charging equipment.
- Designing an installation for electric vehicle charging equipment.
- Understand requirements for inspection, testing, commissioning, and handover of electric vehicle charging equipment and circuits.
- Understand the use of vehicles as electrical energy storage systems as part of prosumer’s installations.
