Want to become an electrician as quickly as possible? Then you have come to the right page. How can you become fully qualified as quickly as possible?
Here is the most recognised route. City & Guilds Level 2 – 2365-02 4 weeks in-centre + 2 weeks online (6 weeks total).
Next step – City & Guilds 18th edition course, 5 days online learning and half a day exam (open book).
At this stage you have two choices,
- Truly fast track and do your City & Guilds Level 3 – 2366-03 back to back. This course takes 7 weeks in-centre.
Or
- Our Recruitment team puts you into work to build up your confidence and you do your City & Guilds Level 3 – 2366-03 at a later stage.
Once you have completed your City & Guilds Level 3 – 2366-03 we enrol you on to your City & Guilds Level 3 – 2357 NVQ Fast Track, at this stage we either put you back into work or put you into work, our dedicated recruitment team has p laced 1000s of students all over the UK and internationally if needed.
The 2357 NVQ can be obtained by submitting work-based evidence through our online portfolio builder, this is followed up by 2/3 onsite assessments. Once the 2357 NVQ is completed an independent AM2 exam must be done, once passed, you can apply for your ECS JIB Gold Card.

On your journey to becoming a fully qualified electrician, the level 2 diploma in Electrical Installations is the starting point. This is predominantly the domestic sector and encompasses: Domestic Wiring, Health and Safety, Installation Theory and Electrical Science.

Stage 3 - NVQ Level 3 C&G 2357
The electrical NVQ is structured to make completing it as simple as possible. The C&G 2357 NVQ can be completed remotely via our online system, enabling you to upload various types of evidence and also complete numerous assessments as you study, rather than the 2-3 site visits that many traditional providers offer.

Stage 4 - AM2
Upon successful completion of your portfolio you will be required to undertake an AM2 test. This is conducted at an independent centre a total of 2.5 days at a fee of circa £800.00. *AM2 assessment is not included. We arrange this with you as per due process at a AM2 assessment centre local to you.
Stage 5 - Apply for NVQ
Having completed your AM2 assessment and providing us with your certificate, we will claim your NVQ. Allowing you to move to the final step.
Apply ECS GOLD CARD
This is it! The final step! Contact the JIB to obtain your JIB Gold Card and become Approved fully qualified Electrician.You are now able to work in a Domestic, Commercial, Industrial, agricultural setting making you extremely attractive to employers and well on your way to a career.

There’s no single flat fee for the Fast Track route, because it’s built from separate City & Guilds qualifications, and how many you need depends on where you’re starting from. Here’s what each stage costs and what it gets you:
**Level 2 Diploma – C&G 2365-02: £3,249 inc VAT**
Your starting point if you’re new to electrical work. Covers domestic wiring, health and safety, installation theory and electrical science.
**Level 3 Diploma – C&G 2366-03: £3,249 inc VAT**
Builds on Level 2 with advanced electrical theory, design and fault-finding, taken back-to-back for the fastest route through the classroom stages.
**18th Edition – C&G 2382-26: £599 inc VAT**
The current BS 7671 wiring regulations qualification, required to stay compliant and work legally as an electrician.
**NVQ Level 3 – C&G 2357: £2,249 inc VAT, plus £500 for on-site assessments**
The workplace competence portfolio, built through real site evidence and assessor sign-off, with 2 on-site assessments included in the £500. This is the stage that turns classroom qualifications into a recognised, employable qualification, and it’s supported by our guaranteed work placement.

The final independent practical exam, taken at an approved centre once your NVQ portfolio is complete.
Taken together, the full route from Level 2 through to your NVQ, including site assessments, typically totals around **£9,846 inc VAT**, plus the AM2 fee. 0% finance is available across the course, with a £250 deposit and staged payments, so you don’t need to cover the full amount upfront.
