Course Content
This PAT Testing course provides the essential knowledge and practical skills required to carry out in-service inspection and testing of electrical equipment safely and effectively.
The course covers:
Electrical safety principles and common hazards
Legal responsibilities under the Electricity at Work Regulations 1989
Understanding equipment classification (Class I, Class II, extension leads, IT equipment)
Formal visual inspections and combined inspection and testing
Safe use of PAT testing instruments
Interpreting results, labelling appliances, and completing documentation
Practical training is included to ensure candidates gain hands-on experience before completing the City & Guilds online examination.
