This PAT Testing course provides the essential knowledge and practical skills required to carry out in-service inspection and testing of electrical equipment safely and effectively.

The course covers:

  • Electrical safety principles and common hazards

  • Legal responsibilities under the Electricity at Work Regulations 1989

  • Understanding equipment classification (Class I, Class II, extension leads, IT equipment)

  • Formal visual inspections and combined inspection and testing

  • Safe use of PAT testing instruments

  • Interpreting results, labelling appliances, and completing documentation

Practical training is included to ensure candidates gain hands-on experience before completing the City & Guilds online examination.
