Full job description:
Elec Training specialises in providing electrical training courses for adults. We’re looking for an experienced electrical professional to assess learners working towards an electrical NVQ.
This is an assessment-focused role. The work centres on reviewing and assessing evidence learners submit for their portfolios, recording assessment decisions and providing clear feedback. It involves little classroom teaching and is not based around regular workplace site visits.
Salary £36,500.00
Hours – Monday to Friday 8.30am to 4.30pm
The Role:
- Reviewing submitted evidence for electrical NVQ portfolios
- Assessing whether evidence meets the relevant qualification requirements.
- Marking or assessing submitted work and recording decisions accurately.
- Giving learners clear feedback on their work and explaining where further evidence is needed.
- Supporting learners with questions about assessment requirements and progress.
- Monitoring learner progress and helping them understand their next steps.
- Completing assessment administration accurately and within required timescales.
- Maintaining clear records of assessment activity and learner progress.
- Following Elec Training’s assessment and quality procedures.
- Working with colleagues to support consistent assessment practice.
- Keeping your electrical knowledge and assessment practice up to date through continuing professional development.
Knowledge and Experience:
We’re looking for someone with recent and relevant experience in electrical installation, whether domestic, commercial or industrial. You’ll have a sound knowledge of electrical and scientific principles, practical electrical capability and a clear understanding of the standards relevant to electrical installation work.
You should be able to review work carefully, apply assessment requirements consistently and explain your decisions in a way learners can understand. The role also calls for strong organisation, accurate record keeping and the ability to manage submitted assessment work alongside learner communication.
What we are looking for?
- Relevant electrical qualifications and experience.
- An appropriate electrical assessor qualification.
- A sound understanding of electrical installation practice.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills.
- Confidence giving constructive feedback and recording assessment decisions.
We would love you to have…
- A Level 4 Internal Quality Assurance qualification or equivalent.
- Further Level 3 or Level 4 electrical qualifications, such as C&G 2396 or C&G 2391.
- Additional electrical credentials such as Solar PV, EV or EESS.
- A willingness to keep learning and share your experience.
