Yes. Elec Training offers a guaranteed work placement to help you gain real electrical site experience. Our in-house placement team works with employers to find suitable opportunities and supports you through the introduction and interview process. We’ll explain how the guarantee applies to your programme when you speak with us.

What type of placements do you offer?

We work with electrical employers on opportunities such as trainee electrical installer, electrician’s mate and electrical improver roles. The work available depends on your experience, location and the employers recruiting at the time. Our team will help match you with a suitable opportunity where you can develop practical site skills.

Will I be paid on placement?

Yes. We arrange paid work placements with employers. The pay rate and working arrangements depend on the role and employer, and we’ll explain those details before you accept an opportunity.

How does this help with my NVQ?

Your NVQ Level 3 requires evidence of competent work on real electrical installations. Suitable site work gives you opportunities to carry out tasks, record what you have done and build your portfolio. Your assessor will guide you on the evidence required and assess whether it meets the NVQ standard.

I'm not based near a centre. Can you still help?

Yes. Learners travel to Elec Training from across the UK, and our placement team works with employers in different areas. Tell us where you live and where you can travel for work so we can discuss suitable placement opportunities.
